The Online Archive of California (OAC) provides free public access to detailed descriptions of primary source collections maintained by more than 150 contributing institutions in California, including libraries, museums, historical societies, special collections, and archives. As California's central repository for finding aids, the OAC is a vital resource for researchers interested in the state's rich collections. Researchers at any level can browse online, search for specific items or keywords, and learn how to access each collection at its home repository. The OAC also contains over 170,000 digital images and primary documents linked directly from finding aids.
San Diego State is now a contributor to this amazing resource. We join other regional contributors, such as UCSD, the Japanese American Historical Society, and the San Diego Historical Society. SDSU now has almost 250 finding aids available in the OAC. Our collections add significantly to the OAC's historical resources about the San Diego region, and represent a range of subjects in California, including environmental history, women's studies, and art. Newly processed collections will be added on a continuing basis.
